Don't Do It
By Sammi | on Wednesday, July 26, 2023
I ended up with my Jeep Compass after I totaled my CR-V by hitting a deer on the freeway. There was nothing on the lot, and I liked the look of the compass. I had nothing but issues from the time I bought it. It drives like a truck, "it's a jeep thing" ok... It's not smooth whatsoever, it's loud, and mine had an issue with shifting gears that was never fixed after 4 visits to the dealership. It would jerk so bad, randomly, when shifting gears, to the point my dad was concerned to drive it when it was icy/snowy, in fear it would send itself into something/someone. My next issue was with the backup camera... It went out.. TWICE. My auto start/stop stopped working all together, which is fine because sometimes when I would stop at a light/stop sign... it wouldn't restart when I took my foot off the gas. My last complaint is with the gas tank... almost everytime I filled my tank I would have to hold the pump at 1/4 of the way squeezed because it would act full if I let it pump itself or even if I squeezed the pump half way. I would have to turn the pump UPSIDE DOWN to actually pump gas. Also, this thing is small. No storage space whatsoever. The pros? I guess it's aesthetically pleasing. I was rearended on the freeway and it didn't leave a mark. I have been trying to get rid of this since I bought it 2 years ago... today I get to say goodbye. I'm going back to Honda and never buying a Jeep again.… - 5.0

Excellent car considering the price
By itsAjeepThing | on Wednesday, June 02, 2021
First off, I love the styling of the car. It is also absolutely fantastic offroad. Overall handling is pretty good. However, I do tend to manually drop a gear to pass someone at speeds above 25 MPH because it literally takes forever for the car to do so itself. Quite honestly, that's the only gripe I would have about it. In 'snow' mode with some all-terrain tires, you can drive on roads with 4" of snow quite well.…
